Diocesan policy regarding Protecting God's Children requires anyone age 18 (out of high school) and over that are involved with our youth must have current:
- Child abuse clearance
- State police criminal background check
- Complete VIRTUS training
Chaperones also fall under these guidelines. Clearances become null and void if after the event occurs the chaperone does not remain active with the youth. Any subsequent involvement with the youth requires updated clearances.
Any adult (age 18 - out of high school - and over) who would be in the company of minors (i.e. World Youth Day, National Catholic Youth Conference, mission trip, retreat, etc.) also are bound by the above guidelines.
