How long does it take to complete seminary formation?

In seminary formation there is minor and major seminary.

Minor seminary is equivalent to a university or college education and an individual would complete minor seminary with a bachelor degree.

A bachelor degree and/or minor seminary is a prerequisite for major seminary.

A bachelor degree in almost any major is accepted (i.e., philosophy, education, mathematics, social work, engineering, communications) for major seminary.

Once a person has a bachelor degree or has completed minor seminary he may apply for major seminary.

Major seminary formation ranges between 4-6 years to complete.

The seminary experience encompasses the areas of human, intellectual, spiritual and pastoral formation.

Parts of the formation process can be tailored for the diversity of the seminarians.

While 4-6 years may seem like a lot of time, it can go by quickly, and the time gives opportunity for continued discernment.
