| | For leadership ministry in the church to be successful a consistent, mission motivated process is required. The New Wine, New Wineskinsprocess is the model that leadership ministry in the Diocese of Greensburg has espoused. New Wine, New Wineskins promotes collegiality amongst and within all of the consultative bodies in the diocese. The participatory emphasis is guided by consensus, empowerment, oversight and evaluation.
Seven essential elements form the foundation of the pastoral mission of each parish and region: evangelization, worship, word, community, service, stewardship and leadership. These elements constantly interrelate, each nurturing and supporting the other. It cannot be overemphasized how important it is to root the entire process of leadership ministry in prayer. It is particularly crucial to have prayer guide the process of discerning the specific direction and focus that a parish, region or diocese will take. |
