What is college seminary?

A college seminary or minor seminary offers a person who believes that God may be calling him to the priesthood the opportunity to discern his vocation while taking an academic course of study that allows him to receive a bachelor’s degree.

A person studying at a minor seminary can major in philosophy but it is not required. College seminarians, for example, can major in the sciences, languages or arts.

Attending a minor seminary ensures that a person at graduation has all the necessary preparation and prerequisites he needs for major seminary, a graduate school of theology or university.
