Father Larry J. Kulick appointed vicar general, acting chancellor and moderator of the curia for Diocese of Greensburg
GREENSBURG — With the pending departure of Bishop-elect Lawrence T. Persico from the Diocese of Greensburg to prepare for his ordination and installation as the 10th bishop of Erie on Oct. 1, Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt announced that he has appointed Father Larry J. Kulick as vicar general, acting chancellor and moderator of the curia for the diocese.
In addition, Bishop Brandt appointed Father Kulick pastor of St. James Parish, New Alexandria. The announcement was made Aug. 28, and the appointments are all effective Sept. 25.
“I know that you will support Father Kulick in his new responsibilities,” Bishop Brandt said in a letter to the diocese announcing the appointments.
“Again, I thank Bishop-elect Persico for his dedication and hard work over these many years for the Diocese of Greensburg. Our prayers are with him as he prepares for his new ministry in the Diocese of Erie.”
Bishop Brandt said Father Kulick will work with Bishop-elect Persico from now to Sept. 25 to “ensure that a seamless transition in these offices occurs.”
Father Kulick’s current diocesan responsibilities – co-director of the Office for Clergy Vocations, co-director of the Office for the Permanent Diaconate and co-episcopal master of ceremonies -- will be reviewed and adjusted as necessary to accommodate these new appointments, Bishop Brandt said.
