APOLLO — A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 8 at St. James the Greater Parish for Richard Trinclisti, recipient of the 2007 Communities of Salt and Light Award for humanitarianism from Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg.

Father John T. Euker, pastor of St. James Parish, and Msgr. Lawrence R. Kiniry, a retired priest of the diocese and former pastor of the parish, concelebrated the Mass.

Trinclisti, who lived in Bell Township, died Aug. 4 at his home. He was 67.

He was active in many groups that help people in need, especially the St. Vincent de Paul Society, serving the organization at the parish, regional and diocesan levels. He helped start the St. Vincent de Paul store that is now in Apollo and helped organize other St. Vincent de Paul Society groups and stores around the diocese

Trinclisti, an Air Force veteran, was also active in the Westmoreland County Food Bank and coordinated the parish food pantry.

He was a former president of the St. James Parish Pastoral Council and served as a lector and cantor at the parish.
