The history of the Diocese of Greensburg is intertwined with the 250-year history of Catholicism in Pennsylvania. The diocese seeks to build upon the rich traditions of the past so that the next 250 years can continue to be vibrant, productive, and spiritually fulfilling. We are blessed with people of faith and vision, who embrace Catholic truth, enrich our communities, and make known the love of Christ throughout the diocese. Joined together, hand in hand, we are called to grow, lead, and share.
In order to address the changing needs of the Catholic Church, its parishioners, and all the people of our four counties, the diocese has launched Today’s Challenge ~ Tomorrow’s Hope, a $45 million capital and endowment campaign. Based upon a comprehensive strategic planning process and planning study, it is with great conviction in God’s grace that the clergy and the many members of Christ’s faithful across our diocese will lead this bold effort and ensure its success.
While ongoing stewardship efforts are an important expression of faith, there are times when extraordinary resources must be brought to bear in order to further the goals of the ministry in all the parishes. In the process, all who participate and are touched by the fruits of this campaign will experience the transformational power of God’s extraordinary love.
Today’s Challenge ~ Tomorrow’s Hope will provide much-needed support for:
1. Our Parishes
2. Evangelization and Faith Formation
3. Our Catholic Schools
4. Ordained Ministry
5. Care for our Retired Priests
6. Lay Ecclesial Ministry
7. Catholic Charities
8. Diocesan Infrastructure
