Reports to: Principal, Assistant Principal and Superintendent
Summary: Instructs students in the content area of High School Spanish, in alignment with the mission of Geibel Catholic which is to achieve and sustain excellence in faith formation, academics, and service while inspiring students to become lifelong learners.
The successful candidate will:
Hold professional certification in Spanish.
Teach Spanish I to V.
Possess knowledge of current pedagogy pertaining to language instruction.
Lead the curriculum, instruction, and assessment for their students.
Strive for excellence in student growth and achievement.
Incorporate student collaboration and technology into instruction.
Diversify lessons to facilitate the success of each student.
Assess mastery of content using varied formative and summative tools.
Focus on data driven results.
Collaborate with peers, in and out of subject area, for cross curricular applications of content.
Communicate clearly and regularly with parents to inform about student progress.
Participate in professional development, open houses, parent conferences, and other related activities.
Understand the difference between teaching students and teaching a subject area.

Secondary Math Teacher

- The teacher should have knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction of secondary level mathematics.
- The candidate will be able to plan, organize, develop, and conduct a comprehensive teaching and instruction mathematics program for pupils at the secondary level by providing appropriate and effective learning experiences for pupils with a variety of learning needs. Effectively assessing the instructional and educational needs of all learners and designing, developing, and implementing sound instructional and educational mathematics programming aligned with NCTM standards is critical.
- The candidate should be dynamic, excited to work in a Catholic school, and able to provide a motivating and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
