 About the Golden Apple Award

The Diocese of Greensburg is proud to announce our first Golden Apple Award to celebrate excellence in teaching within our Catholic Schools. This award honors outstanding individuals who symbolize excellence in and out of the classroom, are committed to Catholic values and are devoted to teaching in the Catholic school system. The diocese recognizes the impact that each teacher and principal has on the development of a child and welcomes the opportunity to express appreciation through the Golden Apple Award program.

The Golden Apple will be given to a total of three teachers or principals within the 13 schools of the diocese. The award will consist of a Golden Apple Award, a certificate and $5,000 cash prize for the awardee's unrestricted personal use. This award is made possible by the Donahue Family Foundation.

Nominations will be accepted by a teacher within the diocese, current parent/guardian, elementary/middle school student with their parent/guardian, high school student, former parent or alum.
