The Office for Evangelization and Faith formation sponsors a youth pilgrimage to the March for Life in Washington, DC, each January. The March for Life began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, abortion.
Our annual pilgrimage, slated for January 26-27, 2017, is open to youth in ninth through twelfth grade and their adult chaperones. No middle school students are eligible to attend and all chaperones must have their required PA clearances.
The youth pilgrimage includes the
Life Is Very Good evening rally at the Eagle Bank Arena on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., as well as the Youth Rally and Mass for Life on Friday morning at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.
The total pilgrimage cost is $100. Full payment is due to reserve your spot. There are only 50 spots available for this trip. Spots will not be held for parishes without payment. For more information, please contact
Christie Smith, diocesan director of youth and young adult ministry.
