 2017 Retreatoree | Many Vocations – One Call to Holiness

Plan now to attend the 2017 Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Office for Evangelization and Faith Formation, Retreatoree, Many Vocations – One Call to Holiness, to be held at Camp Conestoga.

Information regarding the three-day Retreatoree and the Cub Scout Day Session is below, along with a link to required forms and registration links for each.  The registration deadline is September 15, 2017View the schedule of events.

Boy Scout and Girl Scout Catholic Retreatoree
September 22-24

scout-image-1.jpgAll Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Grade 5 and up are invited to attend this fun filled weekend! Sponsored by the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Office for Evangelization and Faith Formation, the weekend will be held September 22-24, 2017 at Camp Conestoga in Bakersville (located on Route 31 between Donegal and Somerset in Laurel Hills State Park).  The Retreatoree is open to all Scouts, but will be Catholic oriented and will contain and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.  The Retreatoree is open to all Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venture Scouts, Explorers, and Webelos Scouts in Grades 5 and up.  The total cost per person is $25 (if registered by 9/15/2017) which includes meals, snacks, patch and program.

Adults who are ONLY planning to attend the Catholic Leadership Development Program on Saturday, and not attend the Retreatoree, please select the second option during registration.  The cost is $10, which covers program materials.

The weekend will end with Mass on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.  Families are invited to attend Sunday morning Mass.

All participants must be registered Scouts, Scouters or their parents/guardians.  All participants, male and female, will be camping in tents for the weekend.  Attendees must provide their own tents for the weekend.  All units must provide two-deep leadership for the weekend unless prior arrangements are made with another unit.  Individual attendees must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian or make arrangements to camp with another unit.  Please notify the Retreatoree committee in advance if you need to camp with a ‘Provisional Unit’ so that arrangements for leadership can be made.

Check-in at Camp Conestoga begins Friday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m. and the program will begin at 8:00 p.m.  A current Annual Health and Medical Record Form (Parts A and B) is required for each registrant and should be brought to check-in.  A Camper Covenant of Conduct, Parent Medical and Liability Release and Publicity/Promotion Release must also be signed and turned in during check-in.

Cub Scout Day Session Participation at Catholic Retreatoree

Sponsored by the Diocesan Catholic Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Office for Evangelization and Faith Formation, the day session activity will be held September 23, 2017 at Camp Conestoga in Bakersville (located on Route 31 between Donegal and Somerset in Laurel Hills State Park).  The Retreatoree is open to all Scouts, but will be Catholic oriented and will contain and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.  The total cost per person is $5 which includes lunch, patch and program.  Parents are encouraged to attend.  BSA leadership policy for two-deep leadership and adult to boy ratio applies.

Check-in at Camp Conestoga begins Saturday, September 23 at 10:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 11:00 a.m.  A current Annual Health and Medical Record Form (Parts A and B) is required for each registrant and should be brought to check-in.  A Camper Covenant of Conduct, Parent Medical and Liability Release and Publicity/Promotion Release must also be signed and turned in during check-in.
