Diocese of Greensburg Benefits Program Summary Outline for Full-Time Lay Personnel*

* only for the following locations: Pastoral Center Campus including Catholic Charities, Information Technology & Christ Our Shepherd Center

BE ADVISED OF THE FOLLOWING -

  1. Below is the GENERAL outline of benefits offered to Full-Time Lay Personnel at this specific location*
  2. New FT employees AND PT to FT employees, have a 30 day window to make their benefit elections. If they don’t decide within the 30 days, they have to go to the marketplace or wait until the Diocese’s open enrollment to make those elections.
  3. Waiting periods may apply to any or all benefits listed below
  4. All benefits listed below are subject to change and or policies to be updated without notice.
  5. Personnel Policy Manual and other documents given to employee at 1st day of employment with employer, which outline all policies in detail, serves as the official benefits program outline.

  • Health – Once elected benefits can only be changed during open enrollment, unless a life change is experienced.
    • Medical – in total, 6 plans offered as follows
      • 3 plans – Provider: Highmark PPO Plans
        • Bronze – No payroll deduction; minimal level coverage** (NO Dental/Vision option)
        • Basic – mid-payroll deduction; mid-level coverage**
        • Premium – highest payroll deduction; most coverage**
      • 3 plans – Provider: UPMC PPO Plans
        • Bronze – No payroll deduction; minimal level coverage**(NO Dental/Vision option)
        • Basic – mid-payroll deduction; mid-level coverage**
        • Premium – highest payroll deduction; most coverage**

    • Prescription – Provider: CVS Caremark
    • Dental – Provider: United Concordia (NOT included in BRONZE medical plans)
    • Vision – Provider: Vision Benefits of America (VBA) (NOT included in BRONZE medical plans)
    • OptOut Incentive Program = payment in lieu of benefits
  • Retirement plan – Provider: Empower; Advisors - Janney Montgomery
    • 403(b) – employer matching contribution available.
    • Enhanced 403(b) - Once you reach two years of service, you will receive an Enhanced Diocese Contribution to your 403(b) Savings Plan account each pay period. The amount you receive is based on “points” – your combined age and years of service on July 1st of each year.
  • Life and AD& D Insurance; Provider: OneAmerica
    • Basic Employer paid Group Life & AD&D Insurance
      • Benefit = Your Life and AD&D insurance coverage amount is 1.5 times your salary to a maximum of $150,000.
    • Optional/Voluntary – Employee paid Supplemental Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Disability
    • Sick pay – vary by location
    • *Short-Term Disability (STD) - Basic Employer paid STD at no cost to you (*PC campus ONLY!)
      • Benefit – based upon years of service
    • *Optional/Voluntary STD – Employee paid Supplemental STD; Provider: AFLAC (Can ONLY enroll during open enrollment in October)
    • Long-Term Disability (LTD) – Provider: OneAmerica
  • Paid time off
    • Vacation – based upon years of service; vary by location.
    • Personal – based upon a calendar year, max is 3 days.
    • Holidays – vary by location
  • Direct Deposit (mandatory)
