Administrative Assistant
Saint Gertrude, Vandergrift and Christ the King, Leechburg
The partnered parishes of Saint Gertrude and Christ the King are accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing office operations and clerical support to the Pastor and the staff of the parishes and cemeteries. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: customer service; updating the parish web site; compiling content for the bulletin; maintaining sacramental, cemetery, financial and other records; answering inquiries for information; scheduling Mass requests; composing correspondence; interacting with various diocesan offices, including the Regional Business Manager and Regional Director of Faith Formation and Discipleship; and, coordinating parish, cemetery, and other calendar events. In addition, the Administrative Assistant serves as the Safe Environment Coordinator for the parishes and is responsible for the maintenance and managing of all clearances and trainings.
As a member of the administrative team, the Administrative Assistant also assists in other duties of the office as needed and/or directed by the Pastor. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, parish liaison with the tenants in the former school building at Saint Gertrude Parish.
This is a full-time position.
The individual selected must: be proficient and comfortable with all forms of technology; have a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Publisher; have strong interpersonal skills; and, have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Having a familiarity and appreciation for the life of the Church and the rhythm of the liturgical year will also be helpful.
