The Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg seeks qualified applicants for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position.
Qualified applicants must have, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and ten or more years of senior-level administrative and management experience. A master’s degree or CPA is preferred. The CFO also must possess a valid driver’s license.
By Canon Law, the CFO must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
This is a senior management position requiring expertise in financial affairs, absolutely distinguished for honesty, administrative leadership experience, excellent strategic planning and organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
The CFO oversees the Department of Finance and is responsible for establishing, coordinating, developing, and implementing reporting systems and internal controls in the financial management of the Diocese to meet its established goals.
The CFO collaborates with the senior management team and other diocesan groups and councils in providing budget information, support for approved initiatives, and guidance on all matters related to the finances of the Diocese, its schools and parishes.
At the end of the year, the CFO must render an account of receipts and expenditures to the Diocesan Finance Council. The CFO carries out these fiscal and financial duties outlined by the Code of Canon Law and diocesan policies as well as those duties delegated to him or her by the Vicar General and/or the Bishop of Greensburg.
The CFO is a direct report to the Vicar General of the Diocese of Greensburg and a part of the Diocesan Managing Directors management team.
The CFO oversees and provides leadership to the Department of Finance; supervises the activities of the directors and support-staff, reporting directly to the CFO, including the offices of Engineering & Facilities Management, Finance and Information Technologies, and Christ Our Shepherd Center.
