The Diocese of Greensburg Police Department which covers all Catholic properties in Westmoreland, Fayette, Armstrong and Indiana Counties, seeks qualified applicants for part-time police officer positions. Part-time officers can be located in close proximity to any of the above counties. Part-time officers are used to backfill shifts for full-time School Resource Officers on approved leave, evening sporting/school events, mass coverage, church festivals, and other special events throughout the Diocese. Officers have the ability to select the events/shifts they want to cover.
Qualified applicants must have Act 235 certification, have successfully completed basic training as required by MPOTEC under Act 120 or have been Honorably Discharged from the Pennsylvania State Police and have a minimum of 10 years of full-time law enforcement experience.
Qualified applicants must be able to communicate and act in a manner that conforms with Catholic principles.
In addition, qualified applicants must have or be willing to obtain NASRO Basic School Resource Officer Course certification or equivalent. The Diocese will reimburse new officers for this training.
Prior to employment potential hires will be required to obtain their FBI Fingerprint Clearance, State Criminal History Clearance, and a PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Diocese will reimburse new officers for these clearances.
Uniforms and equipment are provided. Part-time positions currently start at $26.78 per hour.
