Missionary Childhood Association
The Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) offers young Catholics and their families opportunities to respond to the call to share our faith to missionary discipleship first heard at baptism. Materials for the school year focus on varying catechetical themes and present stories from the missions, and highlight saints, and individuals that reflect and assist in bringing peace to life.
Materials for teachers and parish leaders can be found on the Missionary Childhood Association website. A username and password is required after account creation. The MCA website also includes activities, like brain teasers and crafts, as well as coloring fun, and a tutorial on how to pray the World Mission Rosary.
Meet Polly
Polly is a little Parrot from the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean who now shares a telephone pole with some very nice pigeons in New York City. After a terrible tragedy in her homeland in April 1990, Polly now works for the Missionary Childhood Association (with the permission of mom and dad) and loves telling stories to her friends and little children about “children helping children.”
Check out her full story and learn more about how to become a young missionary disciple.
