 Manus Christi

Latin for "Hands of Christ,"  Manus Christi is an active reflection of St. Teresa's words mixing vibrant prayer, engaging catechesis and formation, and significant service amongst those in need. This week-long service and mission experience will take place at the Bishop Hodges Pastoral Center (BHPC) in Huttonsivlle, WV from June 23 to 29. Students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to encounter Christ while learning and living the concepts of personal dignity, the common good, solidarity, and subsidiarity.

The total cost is $315 for youth. Chaperones pay $250, and Clergy and Religious
attend for free. A deposit of $50 per person is due by December 1, 2018. Transportation is included and will be provided by the Diocese of Greensburg. A portion of the fee ($157.50 youth/$125 adults) is eligible for the Francis Fund grant. Please make sure to fill-out the youth application and submit it by January 2, 2019.

Registration-Deposit due December 1, 2018

In addition to traditional prayer experiences and service opportunities, we will have access to the summer camp amenities at the Bishop Hodges Pastoral Center. A pool with a 90 ft. water slide, climbing tower, and zip line will all be used to incorporate Catholic social teachings.

The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston has recently turned this upscale pastoral center with hotel-style rooms into a center for youth evangelization at the service of those in need. From every room having its own bathroom, the dining room’s breathtaking views, to the beautiful art on the walls, this is an ideal setting to encounter Christ. From here, groups will serve in the surrounding areas of Randolph and Pocahontas counties.

 Depth of Relationship

The Catholic Church has been ministering to the people in the Tygart Valley for over 70 years through the agricultural ministry of the Salesians and the hospitality of those who live and work with the BHPC. We partner with Catholic Charities and Habitat for Humanity to serve our neighbors, and we are in this for the long haul.
