School Choice | Opportunity Scholarship Act
The Right Choice for PA Catholic Families
The Pennsylvania legislature is considering a measure — the Opportunity Scholarship Grant program — that calls for vouchers to help poor students in chronically failing schools choose a different path for their education, and calls for an increased to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.
The Commonwealth’s bishops have asked the parishioners in their dioceses to participate in a statewide effort to advance this public policy agenda that will benefit students, parents, taxpayers and Catholic schools throughout the Commonwealth.
To organize this effort, the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference (PCC), the bishops’ public affairs agency, has launched the Advocates for Catholic Education in Pennsylvania, ACE-PA. This extensive network of concerned parents, educators, board members, alumni and taxpayers will speak with one voice on behalf of Catholic students before the governor and the state legislature. ACE-PA advocates receive the latest news and information about the issues; resources for how to visit, call, e-mail or write elected officials; and alerts when contacting them can make a difference.
Your support is important. School choice is the right choice for Pennsylvania’s future.
