Your prayers and contributions help “prosper the work of our hands” – by providing for the spiritual, academic, human, and pastoral formation of our future priests.

Dear Friends of the Diocese of Greensburg,
Each time I reflect on this scripture verse, I’m reminded of how God created us to use our hands in prayer, service, and generosity to carry out His work. For priests in particular, their hands act in the sacraments as the instrument of Christ. Without the hands of the priest, God’s grace could not be imparted in the sacraments, so vocations to the priesthood are essential for our life in Christ.
This year, our diocese has been blessed with two new seminarians, Joseph Kudla and Andrew Kurta, both from Saint Anne Parish in Rostraver. They have begun the Propaedeutic Stage of formation at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, a period of deep prayer and discernment where the heart of a priest begins to take shape.
It is through your prayers and support that these vocations grow in our parishes. The Seminarian and Clergy Formation Collection, taking place the weekend of September 27 and 28, is a vital opportunity to assist in this sacred work. Your gift helps provide spiritual, intellectual, human, and pastoral formation for our future priests and ongoing development for our clergy.
Please consider making a donation online or by mail. More importantly, I ask that you continue to pray for those discerning a vocation and for the priests and deacons who serve our Diocese so faithfully.
Together, through prayer and generous giving, we shape the future of our Church; one vocation, one act of faith, and one pair of willing hands at a time.
On behalf of all the seminarians and clergy who are blessed by your generosity, please accept my deepest gratitude for your faithful support and continued prayers for vocations. May the work of our hands, united in faith and service, continue to strengthen the Church and form holy servants for God’s people.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
The Most Reverend Larry J. Kulick, JCL
Bishop of Greensburg
