The Diocese of Greensburg recognizes the impact that each teacher has on the development of a child. We are excited to celebrate excellence in teaching in the Catholic schools by recognizing exceptional educators with a Golden Apple Award. Award winners were honored during the fifth annual A Celebration of Catholic Schools Breakfast on March 23, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. in Stratigos Banquet Centre, North Huntingdon.
Bishop Larry J. Kulick served as the keynote speaker and Dr. Nancy Rottler, Superintendent of Catholic schools, delivered a welcome and state of the schools address. Jennifer Miele, CCO, served as the emcee for this exciting event. Proceeds from A Celebration of Catholic Schools directly benefit our students, teachers and schools diocesan-wide.

About the Golden Apple Award

The Diocese of Greensburg is excited to celebrate excellence in teaching in the Catholic schools by recognizing exceptional educators with a Golden Apple Award. This award honors outstanding individuals who symbolize excellence in and out of the classroom, are committed to Catholic values and are devoted to teaching in the Catholic school system. The Diocese recognizes the impact that each teacher has on the development of a child and welcomes the opportunity to express appreciation through the Golden Apple Award program.
The Golden Apple Award is given annually to three teachers within the 12 schools of the Diocese of Greensburg. Each of the award winners receive a beautiful engraved Golden Apple and $5,000 for their own unrestricted personal use.
