Pro-Life Ministry and Advocacy
“We proclaim that human life is a precious gift from God; that each person who receives this gift has responsibilities toward God, self, and others; and that society, through its laws and social institutions, must protect and nurture human life at every stage of its existence.” — USCCB
The Office for Pro-Life Ministry and Advocacy invites individuals to address both immediate social and community needs in their areas, and to work to build a just and peaceful society. The parish is truly Catholic when it proclaims the Gospel and lives through service to others, as well as when each member of the faith community reflects on Catholic social teaching and puts that teaching into practice.

Friday, January 20, 2023

The March for Life in Washington, D.C., took place on Friday, January 20, 2023. Anyone going to the March was welcome to attend Mass that morning with Bishop Larry J. Kulick at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in the National Basilica at 10:30 AM and to march with the Bishop beginning at the corner of Constitution and 12th Street around 1:00 PM.
In HARRISBURG, PA
Monday, September 19, 2022

The first annual Pennsylvania March for Life was held on September 27, 2021, with great success. Bishop Kulick and Father Daniel E. Carr led over 150 pilgrims from our Diocese to march around the Capitol building in support of the right to life in our state.

A number of our congresspersons then hosted a reception for us in the Capitol, where we had a chance to meet them and talk with them.
Parishioners from the Diocese of Greensburg again attended the Pennsylvania March for Life on Monday, September 19, 2022 in Harrisburg.
Participants attended a rally, marched around the Capitol, attended Mass at St. Patrick Cathedral and joined local elected officials for a reception in the Capitol.

March For Life
The March for Life began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. In January of 1974, thousands of pro-lifers participated in the first March for Life to stand up against abortion. An inspiring rally was held as Members of Congress announced pro-life legislation and expressed their support for the pro-life cause. Since then, many more individuals have traditionally marched for the legal protection of unborn children and for loving support for suffering women.
