Foundress: Blessed Antonia Maria Verna (1773-1838)

Ministries: Serving in schools, hospitals and charitable institutions.

Location: Eighty-eight communities in Italy, Argentina, Mexico, Lebanon, Libya, Tanzania, Kenya, Israel, Albania, Turkey, and the United States. The only community in the United States is located in Mount Pleasant, Pa.

Local Ties: The Ivrea Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception run the Verna Montessori School and serve the local diocesan parishes in Mount Pleasant: St. Pius X and Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
