Adult Faith Formation or Adult Christian Initiation Catechists
A catechist or teacher of a presentation on faith and morals in an adult faith formation program, including Bible Studies, or a Christian Initiation program should minimally possess standard certification in the Diocese of Greensburg.
Ideally, a catechist for adults should be a graduate of the Lay Ecclesial Ministry Program or IMF Program or possess at least a bachelor’s degree in theological studies or religious education from a Catholic college or university.
This policy does not include personal witness presentations or presentations on topics other than faith and morals, though presenters should have relevant experience in the topics being presented (such as a psychologist presenting on mental health or a lawyer or a licensed financial planner presenting on estate planning).
